TWO ENTRIES THIS WEEKEND FOR MACDONALD MOTORSPORTS AT TALLADEGA
Talladega Super Speedway (2.66 miles)
Saturday, April 16th @ 3:00 pm
Texas Wrap-Up…..Blake Koch and the Daystar team had a strong weekend down in Texas this past Friday. Qualifying the No. 81 Dodge into 20th position was a big confidence booster for Blake, right when he needed it the most. He continued with his momentum from the impressive qualifying run to bring the team a top-25 finish, making him “Rookie of the Race.”
MacDonald Motorsports @ Talladega…..In 7 career starts at the 2.66 mile Super Speedway, MacDonald Motorsports has two top-20 finishes. Their best was a 17th place result in 2005 with Kevin Lepage driving for the team. In 2009, DJ Kennington gave the familiar No. 81 Dodge a great ride, starting 11th and finishing in the 19th position.
Two cars this weekend…..This will be the first time this season that MacDonald Motorsports will be entering two cars into a race. Donnie Neuenberger will be back in the Eagle Convenience Stores No. 81 and Blake Koch will be driving the Daystar.com No. 82. This creates a lot more work leading up to and during the weekend for the team. The No. 81 car that Donnie will be driving is locked into the race while the No. 82 will have to qualify on time.
Donnie Neuenberger on Talladega
"Looking forward to getting back in the car at one of my favorite places...Talladega. We look to have a strong finish for our sponsor (Eagle Convenience Stores) at their home track."
Blake Koch on Talladega
“Man I am pumped to race at Talladega! I will be in the 82 car so I will have to make the race on speed but I get to keep my same team. I know those guys can get some speed out of the car for me. I am also making my dirt car race debut Friday and Saturday night across the street!!”
Blake Racing a Dirt Late Model???.....Yup. Blake will be making his first start on dirt in a late model at the Talladega Short Track. Come by and check it out on either Friday or Saturday night. More info on this at www.talladegashorttrack.com.
